He's
the funny man of the moment. Film critics who take themselves a bit too
seriously may have been stunned by the box office take of ADAM SANDLER's
'The Waterboy,' but his fans weren't. This summer he's back again and
all grown up in the can't-miss comedy 'Big Daddy.' These leading roles
have helped turn the lovable comic into a big-screen phenomenon, scoring
one hit after another with goofy flicks like 'The Wedding Singer,' 'Billy
Madison' and 'Happy Gilmore.' Then again, Sandler always plays the underdog
-- so why shouldn't he be one in "reel" life?
The success of 'The
Wedding Singer' earned Sandler a ShowEast Star of the Year Award, while
'Billy Madison' has become a cult classic at colleges across the country,
inspiring students to hold "Billy" nights and Sandler festivals.
Sandler's popularity
with the college crowd is no accident. During breaks from his busy filming
schedule, he performs to sold-out crowds at most colleges in the U.S.
and has made two Grammy-nominated comedy albums that have sold over three
million copies to date. What's more, Adam also did a small comedy/rock
tour in conjunction with the release of his third album, "What's Your
Name?" and he's currently writing and recording his fourth album.
