In
1998, dashing Dougray swept DREW
BARRYMORE off her feet in the fantastic fairytale 'Ever
After.' Taking on the role of Prince Charming in this magical recreation
of the classic Cinderella story, Dougray wowed all as he charmed Drew
and ANJELICA HUSTON with a scene stealing performance. That would be the
big screen boost he needed, and Hollywood took notice.
Earlier this year
the "great Scott" ventured back to TV-land to star in "Arabian Nights"
as Sultan Schariar, while more movie role offers came pouring in. Dougray
was offered the part of Wolverine in the upcoming 'X-Men'
feature, but turned it down because he had his sights set on something
even bigger… Tom Cruise, JOHN WOO, and 'MI-2.' The
sequel set new records as the biggest film opening ever, and now everyone
wants to know all about the man who faced off against Tinseltown's "Cruise
missile."
Dougray is able
to take it all in stride. He told The Irish Times, "People say
to me, now you're famous, but I'm not famous and I don't feel famous…
It's not something I think about because that's not why I'm an actor.
I really genuinely get excited about playing a character and being in
a film."
What
is next for this handsome performer? He is set to star in novel turned
feature 'Enigma' with KATE
WINSLET. Set in Germany in WW1, Dougray takes on a character named
Tom Jericho, a famous "code cracker" who was able to break the Nazi "Enigma"code
for U-boats. His mission this time? The seemingly "impossible" task of
breaking the German codes once again. We think it's safe to stay that
in the capable hands of Dougray -- the mission will be accomplished.
