Stage or screen. Comedy or drama. SARAH JESSICA PARKER is one of the most
versatile talents in the business. Having played the title role in the
original Broadway run of "Annie," then gaining national exposure as a
teenybopper on the CBS sitcom "Square Pegs" (1982) and parlaying that
into a film career, the Ohio native has had a blast working her way up
the Hollywood food chain, charming the likes of STEVE
MARTIN, HUGH GRANT
and ANTONIO
BANDERAS, among other leading men.
Staying busy is
a Parker hallmark, and she does that by dividing her time between television
and motion picture parts. Among her early movies was 'Footloose,' in which
she kicked up her heels with KEVIN
BACON; and 'Girls Just Want to Have Fun' (1985) alongside another
rising star named HELEN HUNT. During the late '80s, Sarah segued back
into TV land again, starring in the series, "A Year in the Life," and
in a myriad of TV movies such as
"Dadah is Death," "Twist of Fate," "The Ryan White Story" and "Equal Justice."
Then in 1991, Parker was thrust into the big-screen limelight when she
stole Steve Martin's heart as "SanDeE*" (with a capital "E"!) in 'L.A.
Story.'
